Triscan’s sensor family has now been extended to include camshaft and crankshaft position sensors. With more than 230 references, this new line of products fulfills Triscan’s goal of providing the most complete programmes in the market. For the wholesaler, this is an obvious upsell opportunity in a complex product line that until now has required several suppliers in order to obtain an adequate coverage. As Triscan’s other sensors, the camshaft and crankshaft sensors are all manufactured in OE quality, and the production is subject to the automotive industry's strict quality standard TS 16949. Each sensor also undergoes Triscan's standard quality tests as well as a 100% function test.
Camshaft and crankshaft position sensors are now a part of Triscan’s sensor programme
The sensors serve to measure the camshaft and crankshaft rotational speed and / or position, which is used by the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) to control the ignition system and fuel injection.
Both the camshaft sensor and the crankshaft sensor are often exposed to extreme heat and therefore can burn, but can also be worn out. A faulty camshaft and crankshaft sensor can result in uneven idle, misfire and poor acceleration. At worst case, the engine can not be started. A very common sign of a faulty camshaft and crankshaft sensor is that the engine will not start when it is hot - but starts without problems when it has cooled down.
